Jeremiah 20:9 “But His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones.”

The student body of Crossroads Christian Academy enjoys friendly competition and socialization through The House system. A House Celebration occurs in the fall where each student is assigned to one of the four houses: Matthew, Mark, Luke or John. This program helps foster a sense of belonging, camaraderie, and healthy competition in a smaller group setting.

A program common in classical schools, having “houses” encourage relationships with peers across grade levels as well as increases academic engagement. Each house is associated with a color, crest, and motto and has an SGA house leader. The student body also voted on the theme for the 2023-2024 school year and Jeremiah 20:9 was announced as the winning verse.

Students engage in house competitions where points are awarded for achievements such as academic excellence, attendance, sports, community service, or good behavior. The house with the most points at the end of the year will be rewarded and will receive the House Plaque to display until the end of the following school year.

Students are able to purchase house shirts which can be worn to school when there are house events or celebrations or during community service opportunities. The House System allows students to learn and fellowship with one another in unique manners.

Through the House System, CCA developed a partnership with the D.W. Benner School in El Salvador where students are able to learn about different cultures and communities.

They have also supported local ministries and organizations such as Miracle League, Called to Care, and DC Downtown.
